About the Artwork: What is the meaning of the cactus plant? Cacti symbolize endurance as it is a plant that can stand up to the test of time and the elements. The cactus flower is a symbol of maternal love because it can thrive in harsh conditions and therefore symbolic of a mother's unconditional love.

About the Artist: My painting career started in the beautiful countryside in Taos, New Mexico where I was taught to paint with oils and acrylics by my grandpa Trujillo, who was a landscape artist. I also lived in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for 5 years. The vibrancy and colorful nature of the beautiful culture heavily influence my art today. I use bright warm colors and paint a lot of nature and landscapes.
